Owner of Savanna Rose Dance Studio, Savanna Spindelman, and her student Lucas Rohlfs attended the National Dance Competition for Dance Masters of America's Mr. Dance of America Competition in Atlanta, GA. Savanna & Lucas spent 10 days in Atlanta.
Lucas Rohlfs is the current Mr. Dance of Michigan 2023. He earned this title in January 2023 at the Dance Masters of Michigan's Mr. Dance of Michigan Competition. The staff at SRDS has been preparing Lucas for his trip to Atlanta ever since. Lucas just graduated from Columbia Central High School, and will be attending Western Michigan University for Musical Theater. Lucas is a dancer, assistant, and dance teacher at Savanna Rose Dance Studio - specializing in teaching Hip hop.
The Mr. Dance of America Competition consisted of a preview of their dance to the judges, a 10 minute professional interview, audition classes in various dance subjects, learning an opening number routine, presenting a solo dance ~ all on top of taking convention dance classes during freetime.
During the 10 days in Atlanta Savanna & Lucas had the opportunity to take and observe convention classes when they had free time away from Mr. Dance preparation. They learned a lot during these classes, and Savanna is excited to pass the knowledge onto our dancers.
Lucas did an amazing job in this competition and we could not be more proud.
